14 Oct Healthy Eating Project
The 5 week healthy eating project run by Space Embrace and Cordwainers Grow ran from June to July at Orchard Primary school.
The team discussed which foods were healthy and then taught families how to read ingredients and use the ‘Food Scanner’ app which reveals how much sugar is in food. They taught how advertising aimed at children can be targeted and can lead to unhealthy choices. They then created their own characters and logos and made badges and posters trying to make healthy food appealing. The project then culminated in this video which uses the feedback and responses from families involved in the sessions.
This project then fed into #StreetLifeJuly festival which aimed to teach the community how to eat healthily and keep active.
